AEVEX Aerospace is looking for a detail oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting Team in Murrieta.
The AP Specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued customers and vendors by processing, tracking, and recording payables in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
Essential Functions:
Process vendor and client invoices timely and accurately
Prepare and report weekly AP payments
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues, research open PO's and invoices
Foster relationships with vendor and suppliers through timely payments
Post credit card and expense reimbursements
Reconcile vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
Maintain and update vendor files.
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
Support month-end close efforts with job costing, reconciliations, account aging, and journal entries
Make recommendations to improve the quality of AP protocols and procedures
Support the Accounting Manager with special projects as needed
Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a deadline-oriented environment
Must be detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work individually and with other team members with minimum supervision
Understanding of job costing to accurately track project costs
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience required
Education / Certifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent preferred
Experience:
3+ years general accounting experience with 1-2 years accounts payable experience
Prior experience and strong comprehension of government contracting projects
Prior experience with accounting software and online platforms
