JOB Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, perform technical and clerical duties in the preparation and processing of payroll; ensure that employees are paid accurately and on a timely basis; prepare and maintain a variety of financial and statistical records, reports and other documents as required.
This is a 40-hour per week, 12 months per year benefited position.
**BE SURE TO UPLOAD THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS LISTED BELOW OR YOUR APPLICATION MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED** EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Organize, prepare, monitor and generate payroll for assigned employee groups including faculty, classified, temporary and student employees.
Prepare and input data for County processing; post County reports.
Review and process timesheets submitted for accuracy; verify and enter corrections, adjustments or revisions to payroll as needed.
Utilize District payroll software to update District-wide employee records for taxes, benefits, organization dues, tax shelter annuities, credit unions and other deductions as authorized.
Enter all employee data for Affordable Care Act and Healthy Family Act reporting purposes.
Track data and create reports regarding temporary and on-call employees for compliance with Education Code and the District Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Prepare monthly payroll report for the Board of Trustees.
Attend trainings to stay current regarding payroll laws and regulations.
Maintain employee payroll files.
Review timesheets for sick, vacation, and personal necessity time discrepancies.
Prepare, balance and maintain various reports and records; prepare the balanced payroll report and submit to supervisor for review and approval.
Assist by providing information for data and reports as needed.
Respond to inquiries regarding payroll, timesheets, paychecks, policies and procedures.
Communicate with District personnel to coordinate payroll activities and deadlines; resolve issues and/or forward to supervisor as appropriate.
Communicate with outside organizations as needed.
Respond to earning verification requests.
Process direct deposit requests.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Perform other related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Tentative Timeline: Committee screening will take place one to two weeks from the closing date.
First interviews held two to three weeks from expected closing date.
