SUMMARY:
The Accounting Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and success of our Company.
As well as be responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarter-end and year-end financial statements as they pertain to general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and bank accounts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong data entry and computer skills
Accounts payable experience is a plus
Ability to operate a 10-key calculator, PCs and related equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to understand the chart of accounts
Ability to read an invoice and ensure appropriate coding
Must be able to work under strict time constraints to ensure that deadlines are met
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED (required); Two year degree in Business Administration or Accounting (preferred)
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Able to obtain and maintain a Pauma Gaming Commission license
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assumes primary responsibility for ensuring timely distribution of paychecks
Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate records
Performs pre-production audits prior to each pay release, completes processing for each pay group on release day and performs post production audit to prepare for next processing cycle
Reviews and process all payroll related data, including but not limited to pay adjustments and terminations
Provides timely resolution to outstanding payroll issues and communicates findings to Controller as needed
Ensures compliance with all applicable tax regulations and wage and hour laws
Ensures all quarter-end and year-end audits including file reconciliation, adjustments, and W-2 distribution
Answers all vendor inquiries
Maintains accounts payable files
Responsible for preparing accounts payable register and related reports
Assists in monthly closings
Assists with accounts receivable and special projects
Handles payroll related activities as assigned
Maintains and processes employee orders to withhold and garnishments
Ensures quarterly state tax files, processing, records and reports are completed
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of the payroll database and all employee information
Perform other duties as assigned
