FedVet is a respected construction firm specializing in federal projects, and we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent with a strong background in federal contracting.
The ideal candidate will have specific experience working with federal contractors such as the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
In addition, proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Procore is required, along with expertise in civil construction and tenant improvements.
Responsibilities: Oversee the successful execution of federal construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and federal regulations.
Maintain the project RFI and Submittal logs.
Maintain the project schedule, three week look ahead and lean board.
Collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project completion within budget and schedule constraints.
Utilize your extensive knowledge of federal contracting, including USACE and VA processes, specifications, and standards, to ensure project compliance and successful delivery.
Maintain a strong focus on on-site safety programs, ensuring compliance with all federal safety regulations and fostering a safety-first culture among the project team.
Conduct regular inspections to assess project progress, identify potential challenges, and implement effective solutions to maintain project momentum.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address design changes, technical issues, and constructability challenges.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and as-built drawings, utilizing Microsoft 365 and Procore proficiency to manage project records effectively.
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the construction team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in federal contracting, with specific experience on USACE and VA projects.
Must have working knowledge and certification in USACE EM-385-1.
Demonstrated expertise in tenant improvements, showcasing successful project delivery in these areas.
In-depth understanding of USACE and VA processes, specifications, and standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Procore and RMS, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for project management and documentation.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Proven leadership abilities, inspiring and motivating the construction team to achieve project goals.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent.
