Job Description and Duties Under the direction of the Staff Services Sergeant, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the building and grounds; in addition to the maintenance of the automotive fleet.
Performs janitorial duties including sweeping, vacuuming, shampooing, mopping, waxing and buffing floors; cleans, dusts, and polishes cabinets, desks, counters, and furniture; empties and cleans waste receptacles, cleans walls, windows, and blinds; repairs minor plumbing problems (i.
e.
, gasket leaks); assists in moving and arranging furniture and equipment; replaces light globes and tubes as needed; maintains and orders janitorial supplies to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Performs general grounds maintenance at Inland Division (including concrete parking lots).
The duties include: pruning, trimming, watering, and maintaining ornamental plantings; maintains and makes necessary repairs to the landscape sprinkler system and adjusts watering levels for current season; ensures parking lot is free of weeds and debris and sweeps sidewalks, and maintains records for facility and grounds.
