Be Essential! Incumbent works on the 20,000-acre San Jacinto Wildlife Area including the Davis Road Unit and the Potrero Canyon Unit, maintenance relating to the restoration, enhancement and improvement of wildlife habitat values and fisheries management on Imperial Wildlife Area.
Duties include maintaining existing facilities and equipment, public use management and assistance in implementation of various public use activities on the San Jacinto Wildlife Area.
Implement and perform a wide variety of work, including farming, (operation of farm tractors and trucks), construction, marsh management, wildlife, fisheries and habitat management and public use management.
Knowledge of wildlife food and cover requirements, wildlife habitat improvement methods and techniques.
Works in check station operations, maintains, inventories, repair, replace and post hunting and boundary signs.
Assign hunt sites, collect and tally harvest data, identify waterfowl, conduct non-reservation drawing, provide hunting and fishing information, leads seasonal aids, and patrol wildlife area for problems.
Incumbent assists in operation of hunter programs including check stations; Duties also include endangered species management and management of angler opportunities.
Maintenance: Construction, installation, and maintenance of roads, buildings, enclosures, water control systems, and wildlife watering devices.
Incumbent must have a California Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License .

Working Conditions Ability to work and live in extreme climates, must possess a class A or B driver's license, willing to work weekdays / nights, weekends and holidays.
