Security Service Technician

AMS Connect is hiring an Security Service Technician in our Palm Desert, California location.
Position Summary: Service Technicians are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service and preventative maintenance on fire alarms, security alarms, CCTV, access control and many other low voltage systems.
Technicians will be working with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities: Provide service and customer support during field visits or service calls.
Tie workflow to schedule, be aware of time and productivity.
Manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance, and testing.
Diagnose System trouble or technical problems determine proper solutions.
Produce timely and detailed service reports and tickets, identify follow up needs.
Provide all necessary information to complete document processes in place.
Complete all necessary documentation, time logs, service tickets and notes during service appointments.
Clock in at start of shift and out at end of shift daily (with a lunch break in-between) - Generate timecard every Friday at the end of shift (If worked through the weekend, re-generate timecard first thing Monday morning by 8am) Operate vehicle and equipment in a safe manner and using all safety precautions.
Follow all company field procedures and protocols.
Follow all company and Osha Safety procedures and protocols.
Cooperate with technical and administrative staff and share information across the company.
Comprehend customer service needs make appropriate recommendations based on technical discovery and experience.
Build positive relationships with customers and team members.
Be available for scheduled on-call rotation.
Additional duties as assigned or deemed necessary for effective business operations.
Company Vehicle must be clean and always organized.
Education & Required Skills: Proven field service experience.
Provide proper tools and necessary test equipment required by AMS.
Ability to trouble shoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
English literacy and ability to clearly document information.
Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach above the shoulder, climb stairs, climb, and balance on a step ladder.
Ability to work flexible shift and to adapt to changing work schedules.
Familiarity with tools, testing equipment applications and software.
Ability to maintain a clean safe work environment and company vehicle.
Osha 10 certification Obtain Alarm Company Employee card.
Maintain a clear driving record.
Pass a drug test.
