Essential Functions:
Perform structural repairs and maintenance tasks following engineering specifications, technical manuals, and safety procedures.
This includes repairing or replacing damaged or worn structural components
Assess corrosion and fatigue damage to aircraft structures
Manufacture, modify, repair, and replace sheet metal parts, structures, skins and panels to defined tolerances
Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and support staff to complete projects efficiently and effectively
Interpret engineer drawings, blueprints and specifications
Collaborate with engineering to problem solve troubled situations
Provide leadership to junior level teammates in proper fabrication or installation of parts and repairs using approved procedures, techniques and tool selection
Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including repair logs, and company documents in accordance with policy and procedures
Work in close coordination with program supervisors to ensure work is performed within scheduled time frame
Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment
Ensure that all work is done efficiently and adheres to aviation safety regulations and industry best standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
6-10 years previous aircraft repair station experience including manufacturing aircraft
Expert knowledge of specialized tools and equipment for maintenance and or manufacturing of aircraft
Ability to effectively research OEM, MM, SRM and company repair drawings
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and schematics
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and diagnose structural issues
Excellent problem-solving, communication and critical-thinking skills
Strong ability to work effectively with team members and other departments
Proven aptitude to lead by example
Strong work ethic and integrity
Education / Certifications:
High school diploma or equivelant
A & P schooling/license or military aircraft experience a plus
Understanding of FAA regulations and compliance requirements
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds at a time
Frequently required to view objects up close and distant range with hand eye coordination
Occasionally required to reach overhead and frequently reach at/below shoulder level
Occasionally experience a high level of noise
