Job Summary: As the National Director of Demand and Supply Planning, you will play a crucial role in orchestrating the demand, supply and procurement functions of our company at a national level.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize the efficiency of our supply chain, ensuring the seamless flow of products from production to distribution.
Duties/Responsibilities: Demand Planning: Develop and lead the demand planning process, collaborating with sales, marketing, and other relevant departments to gather accurate forecasts.
Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and historical data to make informed demand projections.
Implement forecasting tools and methodologies to improve accuracy.
Facilitate and own the S&OP and S&OE monthly cycle.
Supply Planning: Oversee the supply chain operations to ensure timely production and delivery of products.
Work closely with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize lead times.
Develop strategies for efficient production scheduling and capacity planning.
Strategic Planning: Formulate and execute supply chain strategies aligned with the company's business goals.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.
Strategic Procurement: Develop and manage all direct and indirect supplier and vendor relationships for the entire company.
Optimize total cost of ownership and service levels for all facets of the supply chain and commercial businesses.
Develop scorecards for existing relationships, mitigate risks through tiered supplier strategies for all major categories of buying.
Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication between cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, production, and finance.
Act as a key liaison between the executive leadership team and operational teams.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in the supply chain and develop proactive mitigation plans.
Monitor industry trends and global events that may impact supply chain operations.
Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for demand and supply planning activities.
Regularly assess and report on performance against set targets.
Required Skills/Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools, MRP and ERP systems.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Strategic thinker with the ability to align supply chain initiatives with broader business objectives.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex supply chain concepts to diverse audiences.
Education and Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience with 5+ years of hands-on business program management.
BS or BA from an accredited institution, preferably in business, engineering, supply chain, or related field.
Advanced degree preferred.
Global experience in both unionized and non-unionized manufacturing environments is a strong plus.
