Job Summary: The National Director of Manufacturing Engineering is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing standards, automation, operations, and supply chain technology solutions.
This role aims to develop and produce high-quality products efficiently, ensure on-time delivery, and minimize after-sales support while managing DreamFields' largest facility and HQ for the Jeeter brand.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Member of the Operations Leadership Team shaping the company's strategic direction.
Develops plans, policies, programs, and objectives for manufacturing and supply chain functions.
Directs strategic planning for automated manufacturing solutions, product and process standards, and technical support.
Manages performance standards to achieve corporate objectives and project portfolios on time and within budget.
Stays updated on manufacturing and engineering technology trends, ensuring DreamFields maintains a technology leadership position.
Ensures product development and technical support meet or exceed customer expectations.
Collaborates with General Managers and production leaders to maintain high manufacturing standards.
Prepares the annual budget for manufacturing automation and engineering.
Drives ROI for approved automation and technology projects.
Leads operational transformations to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Manages software solutions for quality tracking, project management, workflows, MES, and planning.
Cultivates a results-oriented and best-in-class workplace culture.
Promotes quality performance, efficiency, and waste reduction through Lean Manufacturing principles.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge and experience in key operations best practices, including lean, Six Sigma, TQM, self-directed teams, Kaizen, etc.
Knowledge of various design disciplines suitable for a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) automated manufacturing facility.
"Out of the box thinker" with the ability to contribute to the product roadmap and take innovative product risks while meeting deliverables.
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative, and able to work independently.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree required.
10+ years of engineering and manufacturing process experience.
3+ years of experience in a management role.
Experience in relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem-solving, finance, and change management.
Experience with cannabis or hemp preferred.
