This position is staffed in Coachella, at Armtec’s world-class, sole-source production facility for felted fiber nitrocellulose combustible cartridge cases for medium and large caliber military ammunition; and pyrophoric payloads for training grenades.

Job Summary
Engineering interns will operate and perform developmental production operations to gain sufficient insight into the processes, equipment, and products to enable them to appropriately improve the engineering work products and specifications, and to prove they are effective and efficient for their intended purpose and appropriate for use by future production operators.
They will support the design, test, and installation of equipment for a new production line, reporting to Research and Development Manager.
Interns will work closely with senior engineers on various projects that will allow you to gain a firm understanding of engineering, process improvements and the defense manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Interns will be assigned processes and equipment for test, installation, and prove-out to support a new production line.
Opportunities available in: Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering
Projects are intended to give the interns an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to Armtec’s Engineering Departments and to address real business needs while putting to work the interns’ academic learning.

Qualifications
Candidate shall be capable of working in an industrial environment and familiar with using standard tools.
Approximately 80% of time will be spent on the production floor.
Candidate shall have excellent attention to detail, learn quickly, have good documentation skills, and bring a self-motivated work ethic.
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work independently.
Familiar with Microsoft Office, with emphasis in Word and Excel

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or have a trade school education in engineering or a related field.
Preferably currently in junior or senior year, exceptional freshmen or sophomores will be considered.
Work Hours & Travel
4x10 work week M-Th and ability to support off-hours as project needs require.
