This position is staffed in Coachella, at Armtec’s world-class, sole-source production facility for felted fiber nitrocellulose combustible cartridge cases for medium and large caliber military ammunition; and pyrophoric payloads for training grenades.

Industry: Manufacturing Combustible Ordnance and Countermeasures Job Overview Title: Maintenance Process Technician Senior Job Family: Facilities Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Works with: Mid-level Managers, Supervisors, Engineers and employees Location: Coachella, California Type: Full-Time Job Summary 10+ years in the trade with knowledge in industrial machinery maintenance, machinery mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, automated process equipment, printing equipment, electrical installations and troubleshooting, three and single-phase electrical systems troubleshooting, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and HVAC systems, as well as be familiar with CMMS systems.
The Maintenance Process Technician Senior reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and assists on training the Maintenance Department as needed.
The Technician Senior must be capable of reading schematics, blueprints, and other technical drawings, and use written documents, manuals, or work instructions to complete repairs and maintenance of process equipment, equipment rebuilds as well as maintaining proper inventory levels.
The Technician Senior should be strong in at least six fields, considered a skilled maintenance person, and must be capable of demonstrating proficiencies in each skill needed to perform their duties as required by this position.
The Technician will be maintaining all process equipment through troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance, keep machines in working order, detect, diagnose and schedule repairs on machinery before it breaks down.
Technicians will be required to learn new equipment and processes added to the production processes.
Shift work and overtime at times will be required.
Primary Responsibilities Follow all Safety guidelines, rules, regulations as they pertain to the day-to-day task assigned to the process technician senior.
Carry out preventive maintenance programs for equipment within the facility.
Coordinate together with the maintenance materials inventory personnel to establish acceptable stock levels of spare parts.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and as well as equipment repairs on production and facilities equipment and machinery.
Responsible for learning new skills, processes, and procedures as needed to maintain the facilities and equipment.
Follow verbal and written instructions.
Complete complex reports, work orders, and log them correctly for each job.
Excellent organizational skills.
Able to speak, write, and read complex English.
Understanding and be familiar with MSPI’s and SOP’s.
Ability to troubleshoot in a logical order.
Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively.
Develop and execute a training program for other maintenance, engineering and operations personnel as required.
Coordinate with maintenance supervisors, engineers, schedulers, and others to meet production needs.
Serve as a team leader for projects, repairs, and other processes as needed.
Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
Understand and live by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.
Qualifications Have at least ten years of proven work experience in an industrial setting.
Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively.
Must meet six or more of the qualifications below.
And be proficient on the reminder of the qualifications: Have a strong background on electrical installations and electrical troubleshooting.
Have a strong background in PLC installation and troubleshooting.
Have a strong background on blueprints, electrical, ladder, and single-line diagrams.
Have a strong background in variable frequency drives installation and troubleshooting.
Have a strong background on vacuum systems and auto drain systems.
Have a strong background on printing equipment.
Have a strong background on trimming equipment.
Have a strong background on felting systems.
Have a strong background on molding systems.
Have a strong background on dipping systems.
Have a strong background on Regenerative and Recuperative Thermal Oxidizers equipment.
Have a strong background on automated equipment such as auto bond machines.
Have a strong background on steam generated boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Have a strong background on HVAC, humidification and auxiliary equipment.
Have strong background of mechanical principles such as gearboxes, agitators, belts, cylinders, and chain driven equipment.
Have a strong background with fluid systems such as hydraulics, pumps, piping and valves.
Have a strong background in pneumatics, compressors, regulators, separators and auxiliary equipment.
Have a strong background on rebuilding of general process and support equipment such as: motors, pumps, pneumatic, hydraulic, and general equipment.
