The Riverside County Department of Waste Resources has multiple opportunities for an Equipment Operator II (EO II) in Beaumont at the Lamb Canyon Landfill.
The position will report to a Operations & Maintenance Supervisor.
This continuous posting will be open for six months.
This position requires knowledge of the safety procedures/rules and operation, maintenance, capacities and limitations of several pieces of construction and maintenance equipment.
The duties of the position will include operation of motorized construction and maintenance equipment requiring advanced training and complex forms of manipulation such as large tracked Bulldozers, Compactors, Scrapers, Motor Graders, Excavators, and Truck & Trailer in support of landfill site operations.
Work in a landfill setting will include use of machinery to push, compact, and cover municipal solid waste in close proximity to the public.
Additional duties may include occasional operation of light equipment including a water truck for dust control, loaders, backhoes, etc.
for road maintenance/grading work; and to do other work as required.
The most competitive candidates will have experience in the maintenance or construction of landfill facilities or an equivalent location, including operation of scrapers, dozers, loaders, compactors, motor grader and/or excavators and will be able to maneuver heavy equipment to execute maintenance work based on a review of grading plans.
Experience using a hand level for checking grade and setting construction stakes is desired.
