S citizen Security Clearance: Secret Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a C2 Systems Management Support Specialist.
The Command and Control (C2) Systems Management Support employee directly supports MCTOG's Staff and Students C2 and simulation system requirements as well as MAGTFTC Staff with regards to OSG efforts in support of Service Level Training Exercises (SLTE), such as Integrated Training Exercise (ITX) and MAGTF Warfighting Exercise (MWX).
They will coordinate with the Communication Division and Modeling and Simulations (M&S) Section of the MCTOG Staff to support the plan for over the shoulder training for the MCTOG staff and students as they are introduced to Intel, Maneuver, Fires, Logistics, Planning and Collaborative C2 applications and simulations.
The employees also must be capable of server administration for all MCTOG C2 servers; able to provide desktop support for all computers using C2 applications by the staff and students; work in conjunction with IT and M&S contractors and MOS trained Communications Marines to manage and troubleshoot the network to support the use of the C2 systems; and configure the systems (server, client, and web) to support the students and instructors at MCTOG and MAGTFTC.
The Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) mission is to provide standardized advanced training and certification to Ground Combat Element (GCE) Operations Officers, Operations Chiefs, and select other GCE training specialists in GCE operations, combined arms planning and integration, and unit readiness planning at the company, battalion, and regiment levels to support GCE Training and Readiness (T&R) events.
Specific Responsibilities Understand and assist with instruction on all maneuver, aviation, fires, logistics, and intelligence C2 systems.
Assist with the maintenance of military tactical systems and associated workstations as they are installed, configured, and tested in accordance with supporting technical documentation; this includes the planning, installation, operation, and maintenance (PIOM) of the following: Unix (Solaris), v-Center, and Windows operating systems TSOA, GLOBAL-LITE, IOS v1, IOS v2, GCCS, LOTS, JTCW, FBCB2-BFT, TCS, JCR/C2PC, FBCB2-BFT, IOW (Operations and Intel) Client Workstations, and GCCS Client Workstations.
Provide subject matter expertise, feedback, and input to Program Managers (PMs) and military Division Heads for C4 systems.
Provide subject matter expertise and technical support in the development, deployment and mitigation of staff and student workstations Understand and coordinate the use of the following systems in support of Fires training: AFATDS, C2 System Injectors, JADOCS, and TLDHS.
Understand and coordinate the use of the following Intelligence systems: FalconView, IAS FoS, TEG, ARCGiS, MIDB, DCGS-M and MTWS.
Understand and coordinate the use of the following logistics systems: BCS3, TCPT, ICODES, and CL2CS.
Assist with the development of instructional material and instruct on the installation, operation, and maintenance of systems within the Command.
Assist with the “rebuild” of C2 systems for future exercises.
Assist with the development, testing, and evaluation of interoperability procedures for C2 systems.
Provide instruction for C2 Systems, web based collaborative tools, and C2 interoperability with respect to each system.
Provide feedback to military Division Heads on individual student C2 system user training and proficiency.
Assist the OSG team in the configuration and operation of a mesh network to integrate team communications and provide a common tactical operational picture.
Design the OSG communications network in a server-based configuration, using both cellular and existing mesh networks as applicable.
Using mesh network devices, develop and test a means of personnel location during Range 400-series events, and integrate this information into an interactive playback for use during after action reviews.
Build out instruction guides and provide user training to OSG team members in support of the MAGTF Warfighting Exercise force-on-force event.
Requirements: Must be knowledgeable in network management (troubleshooting, escalation, isolation, problem solving, solution generation), SAN and NAS configuration, operation, maintenance, backup, and database administration.
Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
Must possess self-motivation and a high level of discretion to work effectively.
Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.
Experience and Education Bachelor’s Degree with a major in computer science or information systems and 5 years of experience in military training and education required; Attendance at MISTC C2PC Operator’s Course, IOS Administrator’s Course, and COC Watch Officer Course desired.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in military maneuver operations, aviation, fires, logistics, and intelligence operations as it pertains to integrating systems on the battlefield and in systems computer-assisted exercises.
A minimum of 8 years’ experience or demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at MAGTF or joint/combined command level with actual operational force employment.
A minimum of 6 years’ experience, or equivalent abilities, in conducting exercises or analysis efforts; Direct participation in real world operation is desired.
One of the following certifications is required per DODINST 8570: CompTIA Network + Comp TIA Security+ UNIX Systems Administrator – Level I MCSA: Windows 7 MCSA: Windows Server 2008 Microsoft Certified IT Professional – SQL Cisco Certified Network Associate Certifications desired: Microsoft Certified IT Professional – SQL Cisco Certified Network Associate A combination of education and experience will be considered to meet the requisite requirements for this position.
