*Maintenace Engineer Job description*
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, electrical distribution, and plumbing fixtures.
Respond promptly to service requests, equipment failures, and emergency situations, and take appropriate corrective actions to minimize downtime and disruption.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in utility systems using appropriate tools and techniques, and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
Conduct water treatment and testing procedures for cooling towers, boilers, and other water-based systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent corrosion, scale, and microbial growth.
Assist with the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of utility equipment and systems, following manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment readings, and inventory levels using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other tracking tools.
Comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.
Collaborate with other technicians, contractors, and vendors to coordinate maintenance activities, procure parts and supplies, and ensure timely completion of work orders.
Participate in training programs and skill development initiatives to enhance your technical knowledge and proficiency in utility maintenance and operations.
*Qualifications:*
* High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related fields preferred.
* Experience in facility maintenance, utility operations, or a similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
* Working knowledge of utility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and controls, with proficiency in troubleshooting and repair techniques.
* Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS), energy management systems (EMS), and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and respond to emergency situations on short notice.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
