The Madison Club is hiring a Clubhouse Engineer.
This position maintains all building equipment in good working condition, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical; lighting and climate control systems; roofing systems; ground support equipment, and maintenance/cleaning equipment.
The Madison Club is open during the winter & spring season, from October 2023 - June 2024.
Preferred candidates will have a flexible schedule, be able to work weekends & holidays, and understand that time off requests will not be honored during March or April (key event/ festival months).
Essential Functions Complete all maintenance and repair tasks as directed Monitor operation and proper use of all equipment and systems Trouble shoot and repair issues throughout the club Answer and respond to maintenance calls for assistance Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment Responsible for timely repairs, installation, and preventive maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, chillers and any other pieces of equipment that would need service.
Coordinates shutdown and start-ups of utilities when conditions require it Follows procedures for use of Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance Meet with vendors and suppliers to discuss scope of, and products and materials used in repair activities Communicate accurately and effectively with Department Heads, Co-Worker, Members and Guests Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures Assists Chief Engineer in maintaining and repairing fire and life safety systems, room equipment, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, kitchen appliances, refrigeration equipment, pool and pool equipment, lighting, laundry equipment and other systems/equipment as directed Power dropping Banquet/Event set up and tear down Other duties and special projects as assigned Required Qualifications A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency Graduate of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship 1+ years hands-on experience with HVAC and electrical equipment Excellent organizational skills Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines Ability to read, write and understand English in a working environment Works effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule to produce accurate results Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic Knowledge of safe work practices, procedures, tools, equipment and techniques used in the trades Ability to work irregular/extended hours; including nights, weekends, holidays (required) Computer skills: sufficient computer knowledge to operate automated systems including operation of personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software Must be able to work indoors and outdoors; subject to adverse conditions Abilities Frequent lifting, pushing and carrying weights up to 50 lbs.
