San Diego County Excavating, Grading and Demolition Contractor seeking Estimator / Project Manager.
Applicant must have experience estimating earthwork.
Estimating duties include, but are not limited to:
· Seek out/complete bid opportunities through client relationships, networking opportunities, public/private postings, assigned bid opportunities, and various other means.
· Develop and maintain positive working relationships with current clients; responsible for creating relationships with potential future clients.
· Perform site visits to accurately determine work conditions and needs.
· Review all Scopes of Work, proposal specifications, drawings and photographs, to ensure compliance with building / construction requirements; clarity of information; consistency between area details and descriptions; and accuracy of quantities and items selected.
· Develop conceptual, budgetary and hard-bid estimates utilizing estimating software.
· Present and discuss estimates for final pricing decisions with President.
· Prepare proposals and bid packages.
· Revise bids as requested by clients.
Project Management duties included, but are not limited to:
· Coordinate pre-construction meetings for projects awarded to ensure communication and coordination between project managers, field, and office support.
Work with President to coordinate appropriate construction methods and staffing needs.
· Review and distribute plans and specifications.
· Ensure adherence to Contract documents and QC requirements.
· Provide as requested project estimating and schedule reviews throughout the project.
· Interpret and explain costs and budgets to project foreman and field personnel as needed during construction.
· Manage billing with Project Coordinator to ensure accuracy of invoicing, preparation of payables, accounts receivable collections.
· Seek approval for all project change orders (before work is completed) and manage changes to the scope of work to maintain profitability.
· Coordinates efforts and communication with the project owner/general contractor to work toward safe and timely project completion and adjust project scope of work and timelines as needed.
Applicant must:
· Have estimating and project mangement experience in the earthwork field.
· Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Be proficient in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, contracts, and other technical documents.
· Be proficient in performing mathematical calculations and working with numbers.
· Be proficient performing Microsoft programs such as; Word, Excel, Outlook.
· Be self-motivated.
· Pay attention to detail.
· Be able to meet deadlines for multiple tasks
· Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
· Pass a pre-employment drug screen
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $83,200.
00 - $93,600.
