Responsibilities:
- Oversee the estimating process for construction projects from start to finish
- Manage an Estimators Assistant and provide guidance and support
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, to ensure accurate and timely estimates
- Utilize construction estimating software such as B2W ( Bid 2 Win) to prepare detailed cost breakdowns
- Analyze project scope and identify potential risks or opportunities for cost savings
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals to clients
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms with subcontractors and suppliers
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and implement cost control measures as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in construction estimating or related field
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Proficiency in construction estimating software, such as B2W or WinBid.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and other technical documents
- Strong analytical skills to accurately estimate project costs
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision
