The Painter II has a specialized focus in drywall, drop ceilings, wall vinyl installation, and is responsible for the maintenance of all interior and exterior surfaces of the hotel, casino and back of house Team Member areas.
Responsible for any on-site buildings, structures, and walls and traditional finishes.
FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintains equipment and tools in paint shop using accepted practices to keep equipment in good working condition, operates compressors, striping machines, sandblasters, spray equipment, and other small power equipment.
• Applies paints, stains, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines.
• Washes, scrapes, sands, torches, and smooths interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials.
• Drywall repair and installation including tape and mud finishes.
• Drop ceiling repair and installations.
• Wall vinyl installation.
• Takes a proactive approach in using Best Practices in the painting and repair of assigned projects.
• Adheres to safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations using best practices.
• Completes assigned projects to accepted standards on time using tools and materials provided.
• Other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
May serve as a resource to level I Painter positions for guidance with drywall, drop ceiling, and wall vinyl repairs and installations.
The Team Member is responsible for protecting the assets of PRC.
________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES ________________________________________ EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: A High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; must have eight (8) years of experience as a painter with at least two (2) years’ experience using an airless sprayer along with four (4) years of experience with drywall and drop ceiling repair and installation.
In addition, this position requires four (4) of experience with wall vinyl installation and repair.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
This position also requires the ability to write simple correspondence.
The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other Team Members of the organization is required as well.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs is required as well.
REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
The ability to work with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations is required as well.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a class “A” gaming license.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Certificate of Safety Operation (Pechanga) within ninety (90) days of hire.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade.
• Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.
• Knowledge of text and display requirements for signage applications.
• Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.
• Ability to communicate with all Team Members and management personnel.
• Good organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to color match.
• Experience with wall coverings.
• Boom and Scissor Lift operation experience.
• Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated and resourceful.
• Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast paced and culturally diverse casino environment.
• Must be able to take direction and follow through with assigned tasks.
• Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
