*Title: Airframe & Powerplant / Inspection Authorization Mechanic*
*Reports to: Station Manager*
The Airframe & Powerplant / Inspection Authorization (A&P/IA) Mechanic performs and documents routine aircraft inspections and repairs, completes scheduled maintenance, and carries out any testing necessary for safety and regulatory compliance.
Other duties will include supporting Garmin avionics installations as needed.
The ideal candidate has reciprocating engine General Aviation aircraft maintenance experience in a wide variety of aircraft types/models (e.
g.
, Cessna, Piper, Beech, Cirrus, Mooney, etc), and a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) A&P/IA mechanic license.
Experience with Repair Station requirements and operations and airline line maintenance is a plus.

*Duties and Responsibilities:* * Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times * Knowledge of computers for timekeeping and work order management * General knowledge of Federal aviation regulations * Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints/drawings * Ability to read and understand aircraft wiring diagrams * Perform and sign-off required inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems * Perform all airframe, power plant repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements * Removal and disassembly of defective parts; assembly and installation of replacement parts; and testing aircraft systems * Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments * Complete all required maintenance records * Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints * Ability to legally operate a motorized vehicle * Tow and park aircraft * Perform other aircraft maintenance work as may be required *JOB REQUIREMENTS:* *Minimum Qualifications, skills, and abilities:* * High School Diploma or Equivalent *required* * Possess a Valid FAA-issued A&P/IA Certificate *required* * At least 3 years of A&P experience working on GA aircraft *required* * Demonstrated proficiency conducting aircraft inspections as an IA on multiple GA aircraft types/models *required* * Experience installing Garmin or other similar avionics components in GA aircraft *desired* * Experience and/or training for line maintenance on airline aircraft – A319/A320/A321, A220, B737, and/or E175/190 aircraft *desired* * Knowledge and Understanding of the English Language *required* * Strong verbal and written communication skills *desired* * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical, as well as an FBI criminal background check *required* * PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess the ability to: * Stand * Lie down * Kneel * Climb stairs, scaffolds, or ladders * Frequently lift, pull, and hold objects weighing more than 70 pounds * Noise and vibration are common when engines are on, so ear protection is necessary \* *Working conditions*: A&P Mechanics usually work outdoors, sometimes in unpleasant weather.
Mechanics often work under time pressure to maintain flight schedules to keep from inconveniencing customers.
At the same time, mechanics have a tremendous responsibility to maintain safety standards.
