*Mechanical Design Engineer *
Develops new products that meet product proposals with creative solutions while incorporating critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements in the design.
Creates prototype models to evaluate new concepts and reduce risk.
Understands and uses geometric tolerances and statistical process control (SPC) principles.
Integrates the needs of end users, customer service and manufacturing to provide optimum designs that exceed competitive offerings.
Executes per a project plan the generation of 3D CAD models, 2D CAD drawings, BOMs, test procedures, dispositions first articles, etc.
while maintaining data integrity.
This individual will work closely with other team members to assure specifications are met with technically strong, high quality, and cost-effective designs.
Accomplishes tasks in a manner that reflects the high-quality standards on which Waterstone Faucets was founded.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Executes engineering activities for multiple projects and priorities work to align with business and department goals.
Designs components and/or sub-assemblies using Solidworks.
* Contributes to development of new designs and/or sustaining engineering at all stages, from concept creation to production.
* Develops a conceptual design that satisfies form, fit and function of the requirements.
* Uses analytic software and/or prototyping to demonstrate product feasibility.
* Basic understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerances).
Conducts tolerance analysis of multi-part assemblies.
* Begins to create cost estimates for new and existing components and sub-assemblies.
* As a team member, works with suppliers and/or manufacturing to develop new or enhance existing components and assemblies.
* Writes test plans and works to complete required testing.
* Develops and maintains accurate and complete engineering documentation, i.
e.
design layouts, bill of material (BOM), detail and assembly drawings.
Executes engineering change documents as required.
* Provides designs that incorporate a basic knowledge of customer service requirements, end user needs and manufacturing requirements.
* Produces design models, drawing details, assembly drawings, and associated engineering documentation with 3-D modeling software, MS Word, EXCEL and MS Power Point.
* Provides status and progress reports to project team and management.
* Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
*Education and Qualifications:*
* Engineering degree; or AA degree in a technical field with a minimum of five years related experience and/or training.
* Strong math, science and mechanical aptitude
* Computer graphics/design and drafting experience a plus
*Equipment/Software Use: *
· Proficient in all Microsoft Office Software, (Word, Outlook, Excel)
· CAD Software, SolidWorks
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,560.
00 - $80,000.
