(On-site) Senior Network Engineer Job Description Summary
The Senior Network Engineer will coordinate with the IT Network Manager regarding tasks that arise during day-to-day operations of various computer systems, hardware, networking solutions, servers, and the central data center.
The Senior Network Engineer will provide on-site/remote administration for software users in a variety of work environments, including professional offices, workgroups or departments, and corporate information services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
Under guidance of the IT Network Manager, oversees the administration, maintenance and installation of all ACBCI network infrastructure and those core systems that specifically impact the business in relation to internet, telephony, communication, routing and switching.
Will also recommend new solutions in regards to hardware and software.
Work with the IT Network Manager to help shape and realize the Vision of IT Engineering moving into the future.
Oversees 3rd level property IT support, system backups, archiving, and disaster recovery.
Under guidance of the IT Network Manager assists with the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, hardware and software based on and related to user or system design specifications.
Serves as 3rd level support for all trouble calls/emails and enters work orders into our tracking software concerning all related IT engineering systems.
Assist Network Manager with inventory management of all software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT engineering assets as required by the business.
Will research and provide recommendations for the purchasing of software, hardware and other IT engineering software required by the business.
Provide support and guidance to the rest of the Network Engineering team.
Assists with administration, maintenance, and upgrades of Enterprise Data Center
Prioritizes all work activities, projects and other related tasks as assigned by the IT Network Manager.
Reports project status to the IT Network Manager.
Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external customers.
Comply with all applicable Tribal regulations, internal controls and policies and procedures.
Document and report all exceptions/variations/deviations immediately upon awareness.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information sciences from a four-year college or university, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
A current valid Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) Certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
CCNP Preferred.
Extensive experience may be substituted for certification.
Must have 5 years of experience working with PC hardware and server hardware, Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 20xx, Windows 20xx Server), Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Data Center Technologies and Hypervisors preferred.
Experience working with Enterprise Switching & Routing Technologies, Collaboration Platforms and wireless deployments, and topology
Experience with Visio and diagram design tools.
Strong knowledge of Cyber security related policies and procedures.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and work after normal business hours and on weekends as required.
Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift.
Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.
Typically the individual will be housed in an office environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment.
Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs.
on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
