Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipefitter to join our team at Kee Engineering.
The Pipefitter will be responsible for installing, assembling, and repairing piping systems for various construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shapes and sizes using hand and power tools.
Install and assemble piping systems, including but not limited to water, gas, steam, and air lines.
Weld, solder, or braze joints to join pipes and fittings as needed.
Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other testing equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair piping systems, including identifying and fixing leaks, blockages, and other issues.
Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to coordinate installation and ensure project deadlines are met.
Adhere to safety standards and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a pipefitter in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Proficiency in welding, soldering, and brazing techniques preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
