Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Building Operations Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Engineer will provide repairs and maintenance using all trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing & carpentry) on a wide variety of building equipment and systems according to established organizational standards, while at the same time providing the customer with a high quality experience.
Job Status: Full time, Hourly, Non-exempt
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing maintenance, including up keeping of the facilities appearance by engaging in daily exterior walks around the facilities and trash pickup.
Conducts ongoing painting of facility - general upkeep; patch any holes, caulk and paint as needed.
Conduct monthly preventative maintenance on cabinets, doors / handles, lights, windows, Generator, etc.
Inspects fire extinguishers monthly and sign off on tags.
Utilizes ticket system for all maintenance activities.
Performs routine plumbing - repairs (e.
g.
replace faucets, sinks, toilets, drainpipes, garbage disposal (unplug blockages) etc.
Performs construction/ carpentry (e.
g.
shelves, door repair and installation, building framework, including walls, floors, and doorframes, measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
Some understanding of how to read blueprints and building plans, replacing ceiling tiles) as needed.
Performs electrical testing and repairs (e.
g.
replace light bulbs, light fixtures, switches, electrical outlets troubleshooting/repairing fuse outages) as needed/
Assists in the relocation of offices and equipment as needed.
Assists in set up and break down of all meeting rooms as required.
Paints curbs, pick up trash and debris around buildings and parking lot, etc.
as needed to keep buildings looking presentable.
Keeps all building maintenance supplies in one area and orderly.
Pressure washes the exterior of the building when instructed to do so.
Understands and follows all OSHA rules and regulations as well as DAP Health safety protocols.
Cleans spills, biohazard and chemical in non-medical areas of the building, only up to the level that the staff member has been trained to handle.
Engages and participates in continuing education classes offered (Relias) and not to be limited to mandatory monthly safety trainings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to:
Read and write English language
Follow verbal or written instructions.
Must have knowledge of proper use of power, hand and specialty tools and equipment.
Must be available to work some evenings and weekends when required.
Some computer knowledge, preferred.
Bilingual/bicultural, preferred.
Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), preferred.
Experience working with HIV affected populations, preferred.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of two years’ experience working in a combination of construction and facility maintenance.
Valid CA Driver’s License with a clean driving record and current auto insurance.
