Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, the IT Technician will act as the first source of support for end-user questions and issues.
Job Status: Full-time, Hourly Non-exempt
Duties/Responsibilities:
Is the primary contact for user support and resolves Level I and II problems.
Triages issues and assigns to higher-level team members as needed.
Provides tier 1 technical support on the EHR system.
Creates and maintains user accounts in Active Directory.
Coordinates repair and maintenance for network printers with appropriate vendors.
Assists in phone system maintenance.
Performs network and server support as directed, maintains user and email accounts.
Performs imaging and installation of new PCs.
Performs desktop hardware/software installation and maintenance.
Generates specialized reports as required.
Inputs information into various agency systems with speed and accuracy.
Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of all equipment on the network.
Trains users in Microsoft Office, Adobe Application Suite and other common applications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to recognize when to ask for assistance from senior IT staff.
Strong knowledge of desktop and network technologies and Windows operating systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to succinctly document all work performed.
Must possess a strong team-member mentality.
Excellent customer service skills and a positive, customer-focused attitude.
Ability to:
Maintain complete confidentiality when handling sensitive business information.
Handle lifting of PCs, servers, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
Work well under pressure and respond to constantly shifting priorities.
Meet deadlines.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems or escalate them as needed.
Adhere to safety practices.
Requires travel to off-site locations.
Education and Experience:
Certification – A+, Preferred.
Valid CA Driver’s License with up-to-date automobile insurance.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Operates in an office setting at times and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion and talking as well as lifting of PCs, servers, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
