Job Description
The Fitness Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality fitness class instruction.
Accountable for setting member service standards, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and promoting the Department’s health and wellness programs and services.
Requirements
Duties include but are not limited to:
Teach Assigned Fitness Classes.
Begin and end all classes on time; clean and disinfect group exercise equipment to maintain a clean work environment, according to procedures.
Maintain a professional instructor-member relationship.
Respond to member-related issues promptly and professionally, according to procedures.
Maintain high professional standards of service, appearance, and behavior.
Assist with promoting the Department’s class schedule, programs, and events.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Must have excellent communication skills; ability to speak with volume to direct a class.
Willingness to respond to client’s questions or concerns.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge about exercise, health, and fitness.
Ability to explain and promote other facility services to guests.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment during season.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
One-year previous experience and class instruction experience preferred.
Certifications or Licenses
Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification.
Group Instructor Certification and experience with 55+ audience preferred.
Working Conditions
Typical fitness environment.
Position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
Frequent social interaction.

Work is performed in a climate-controlled office without exposure to adverse environmental

extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, toxic agents, violence, disease, or
pathogenic substances.
Piece Rate: $54.
06 per class.
