KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a vital member of the Preschool Teaching Team, the Assistant Teacher must be able to relate lovingly and consistently with children and their families, work willingly and pleasantly with other staff members and be flexible with change.
The essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Assisting and supporting the lead teacher in the planning, preparation and implementation of the program selected curriculum and activities.
Continuously interacting with and supervising the students with encouragement, positive reinforcement and redirection in the classroom, Club House, and the playgrounds
Teaching, coordinating and compassionately reinforcing learning in centers and small groups.
Following all safety guidelines and procedures
Cleaning, disinfecting and organizing interactive areas throughout the day and before leaving for the day.
Keeping records of any problems that may occur throughout the day.
Assisting with bathroom runs, making sure that children have good hygiene and changing diapers and/or clothing as necessary.
Attending all devotionals, staff meetings and professional development as required by the Director.
Continuing education at an accepted pace
COMPENSATION:
PART TIME
$16-18/HR
QUALIFICATIONS
Know, love and serve God and love Kids.
Be an active Member of a Christian, Gospel-Centered Church
Have earned a high school diploma, complete 6 units of early childhood courses and continuously working towards the completion of 12 units (additional infant/toddler class, if working with this age group), as required by the State of California
Have 1+ years’ experience in a childcare or teaching setting.
Exemplify a friendly, professional, and positive demeanor.
Demonstrate strong, yet loving and influencing communication skills.
Prove to be a proactive self-starter, creative problem solver and collaborative team player.
Must be in good mental and physical health with the ability to lift, bend and reach without difficulty.
Physical requirements: Constant periods of sitting and repetitive motions.
Occasionally able to lift or move up to 40lbs and standing or walking
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher and the Administrative Team, the Assistant Preschool Teacher is responsible for supporting and assisting the lead teacher(s) in the classroom and being flexible enough to assist multiple teachers in multiple classrooms at any given time.
