00/hour Apply NOW for priority consideration! The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters (ROV) is recruiting for temporary Election Support Driver who will support the Operations Division.
WAREHOUSE SUPPORT/COURIER (DRIVER) Job Duties: Drive and deliver equipment and supplies to various locations throughout San Bernardino County Load and unload delivery vehicles as directed Complete paperwork associated with delivery of Election related materials, equipment and supplies Communicate with Registrar of Voters dispatch team regarding status of deliveries Perform related warehouse duties as required Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Fuel vehicles as needed ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The mission of the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters is to conduct the County’s elections in a fair, accessible, secure, transparent, and efficient manner, upholding the highest level of election standards and accuracy, while always providing excellent customer service to both our team and the diverse population we serve.
The Registrar of Voters also performs all voter registration functions, including the storing and maintaining of voter registration records, administering all local, state, and federal elections managing voting systems and equipment, performing election ballot processing and vote tallying, training of poll workers, and providing voting-related services to voters, elected officials, campaign groups, and other community stakeholders.
Conducting elections is both exciting and challenging.
Attention to detail is critical and working as a team is vital to accomplishing successful elections.
Permanent staff temporary staff, and volunteers assist in the variety of complex tasks required to conduct elections.
The Registrar of Voters believes that a successful team is a partnership - one that contains the following elements: Clear roles and responsibilities Shared goals and objectives Commitment to excellence A clear communication process A willingness to be open and honest A willingness to compromise Personal accountability Personal integrity CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Job offered candidates must pass a background investigation, which includes a fingerprint check, physical examination, and County driver's clearance prior to employment start date.
Physical: Incumbents must be able to lift up to 50-70 lbs.
Travel: Travel throughout the County is required.
Incumbents will be required to make provision for transportation.
A valid California Class C driver license with clean driving record, and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
Mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate is available.
Election Workdays: Election Workers are required to work all shifts necessary to support polling place operations.
Shifts may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and required overtime with short notice.
Pre- & Post-Election Workdays (for applicable roles/assignments): Shifts may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and required overtime with short notice.
Overtime Hours: During peak election periods, staff is required to work a significant amount of overtime.
Overtime can include evenings, weekends (both Saturdays and Sundays), and early morning/late night hours with short notice.
Minimum Requirements Applicants must meet all of the following requirements: Be at least 21 years of age Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently Available to work the mandatory shifts to support polling place operations In addition to the requirements listed above, applicants must also meet the following requirements contingent upon applicable role: Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age to qualify for a driving role.
Applicants may need to be a minimum of 25 years of age to qualify to drive a 15-Passenger Van.
Desired Qualifications Previous experience driving vehicles ranging from passenger cars up to 26 ft.
box truck with or without air brakes Ability to safely operate a hydraulic lift gate Ability to perform routine physical tasks associated with warehouse and deliveries Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
