Responsibilities:
EVS Techs are responsible for providing a safe care environment for patients and staff (visitors as appropriate to setting) within their assigned area(s) achieved by demonstrating the principles of cleaning, disinfection and quality assurance toward the reduction of harmful pathogens for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff.
While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients and visitors.
Contact may include educational and safety-related and should be appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served in assigned service areas.
Responsible for ensuring timely room turns related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention.
The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas and equipment to ensure compliance with mandated regulatory agencies and established Hazelden policies and procedures
Participate in daily interactions with unit staff and patients to provide a supportive environment
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
1 year of freedom from chemical use problems
Current first aide certification.
Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days
Certification must be from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST).
1 year of health care environmental services experience.
