POSITION OVERVIEW
Desert Champions is hiring for a Seasonal Barback for NOBU - Indian Wells.
NOBU is a world-renowned Japanese Restaurant and we are seeking exceptional and creative individuals who are motivated to create memorable experiences through incredible food and hospitality.
We request all applicants for this position be available to work during the BNP Paribas The position and shifts will include: Begin between October and January End date 3/18/24 Must be available at least 3 nights, per week to start Regular shifts starting as early at 2pm Must be available all shifts from February 26, 2024 through March 18, 2023 Shifts beginning as early as 9 am from 3/4/24 – 3/17/24 Some doubles will be required from 3/4/23 – 3/17/24 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: In the NOBU style welcome every guest in a kind and courteous manner to ensure a smooth and memorable dining experience.
* Prepare food garnish items needed in the preparation of drinks.
* Trash pickup and disposal at bar and bar service areas.
* Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when using restroom, etc.
).
* Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance, and/or safety.
* Complete tasks related to stocking, replenishing, cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of beverages under the guidance of the Bartender.
* Create and support an environment of “Teamwork” by helping a fellow employee or guest Maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, condiments, etc.
* Wash glasses and other serving equipment at bars.
* Stock refrigerating units with liquor, wines, and beer, etc.
Replenish ice at bar.
* Clean and polish bar, counters, shelves, equipment, bar stools, etc.
* Prepare coffee and tea items.
* Performed all duties in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Attend all mandatory trainings and maintain certifications.
* Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 1-3 years’ experience preferred REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS California Workplace Harassment certification or obtain within 30 days of the hire date California Food Safety Training certificate or obtain within 30-days of hire date California Responsible Beverage Service certification or obtain within 60-days of hire date.
LAUNGUAGE ABILITY Ability to speak effectively with, guests, VIP’s, and employees of the Organization Ability to speak, read, and understand English REASONING ABILITY Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations COMPUTER SKILLS Time clock/Mobile time clock POS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & OTHER ABILITIES Work in a flexible manner by being able to think quickly and adapt to sudden changes remain calm under pressure Understanding of restaurant etiquette Excellent communication skills Ability to prioritize and manage time well Ability to work as a team and support co-workers Patience with customers and coworkers Ability and confidence to communicate with all types of individuals Good physical condition to walk and stand during entire shift.
