Job Title: Extended Day/Recess

Classification: Part Time; Non-Exempt
DEFINITION
The Extended Day/Recess staff monitors and supervises children while at lunch, recess and extended day.
The extended day/recess staff also enforces playground rules.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots student information systems and related applications
Perform all duties associated with opening and closing procedures.
Monitor and supervise children while at lunch or recess.
Monitor and supervise children while at extended day.
Enforces playground rules.
Other duties as assigned

ABILITY TO
Assume responsibility for supervising children.
Demonstrate an understanding, patient, warm and receptive attitude toward children.
Maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and parents.
Maintain strict confidentiality of student information.
EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience working in a school setting preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s function require the following physical demands: Walk, look downward, turn neck (up to continuously), sit, bend (frequently), stand, stoop, squat, reach, push, pull, occasionally kneel and/or crawl.
Climb (infrequently); grasp/manipulate materials & supplies (continuously); lift items to 10 pounds (frequently), carry to 10 pounds (occasionally), lift/carry to 40 pounds (infrequently), seeing, hearing and speaking continuously as needed.
This job is generally performed outdoors.
