Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Desert is looking for Youth Development Professionals.
*Job Description*
Youth Development Professionals plans and implements structured educational, social, athletic, and recreational programs and activities of the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Desert for young people.
*KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities): *_Prepare Youth for Success_
1.
Ensure programs, services and activities that prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members and quality in programs at all times.
Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
2.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by: Planning, organizing and implementing a range of program services and activities for drop in members and visitors;
* Initiating new programs with the approval of the Director of Program Development;
* Recommending the development of service area programs; and Promoting and stimulating program participation.
3.
Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests and participating in weekly branch staff meetings.
*Health and Safety*
4.
Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program area.
5.
Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order.
Recommend requisitions, as necessary; controlling expenditures against monthly supply budget.
Program Development and Implementation
6.
Manage administrative systems by registering new members and participating in their club orientation process.
*SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:*
* High school diploma or GED required
* Experience working with young people in a group setting.
(internships, student teaching and volunteer work may be applicable)
* Ability to motivate youth, manage behavior problems, and organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
* Decision making, planning, organizing, communicating, and analyzing skills required, as well as the ability to lead educational, social, athletic and recreational activities in small and large group settings.
* CPR certificates and First Aid certificate preferred.
* Valid state driver's license.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIORNMENT:*
* The Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Desert is a two-story facility requiring climbing of stairs on multiple occasions throughout the scheduled workday.
* Standing for extending periods of time as well as walking to multiple locations within the Club and outdoor field is required throughout the day.
Sitting at an office desk and working with a computer/monitor is necessary for approximately one hour daily.
* Some heavy lifting may be required, usually not exceeding 40 pounds.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.
