Constructed of wood, plaster and hand-embellished paint.
Octagonal plinth is felt-lined on the underside.
Origin is unknown.
This piece is extremely old.
The wood arms are articulating.
The body is made of plaster and is quite delicate in some areas due to age.
Some of the plaster around the neck area has been repaired with glue although not obvious.
It appears that the body is comprised of two parts, an upper bust and lower torso.
There is a slight seam between the two parts.
This Santos is a fragile piece.
It can be shipped but pickup is recommended to protect this antique from further decay.
Overall, it's an absolutely gorgeous religious piece.
