Medical Assistants play a crucial role in supporting patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
Their responsibilities encompass both clinical and administrative areas, ranging from aiding physicians in patient care to managing clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
Additional duties include ensuring the security of medical records, maintaining adequate medical supplies and inventory, and performing preventive maintenance to keep equipment functioning optimally.

Take and record vital signs and measurements, including height/length, weight, blood pressure, etc.
Accurately enter patients' information into the electronic health record, including reasons for visits, active problems, medications, allergies, medical history, surgical history, social history, and immunizations.
Prepare patients for examinations, ensuring their comfort and readiness.
Review and update patients' preferred pharmacy information.
Administer medications and injections as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Collect and prepare laboratory samples, performing necessary procedures as ordered.
Electronically place orders for laboratory or radiology testing as directed by healthcare providers.
Electronically submit refill medication orders according to established protocols.
Communicate with pharmacies, laboratories, and radiology departments as needed to facilitate orders or retrieve medical records.
Process incoming faxed prescriptions, refill requests, and other clinical paperwork in accordance with established protocols.
Manage outgoing clinical paperwork multiple times throughout the day, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Receive patient phone calls and triage appropriately, following standard guidelines.
Communicate with patients via phone or mail as instructed by healthcare providers.
Maintain cleanliness in exam rooms, restocking supplies and gowns as needed.
Thoroughly clean and sanitize medical instruments, equipment, and examination rooms.
Always adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection, and masks, during cleaning and procedures.
Manage stock and storage of supplies delivered to the office.
Prepare materials and equipment for clinic sessions, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
Assist during procedures and provide support as required.
Perform screening tests, such as eye exams, electrocardiograms, oxygen saturation, etc.

Required education and experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
A Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a medical assistant training program is required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification/CPR certification preferred.
Minimum Experience: Experience in working with Primary Care, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Geriatrics a plus.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required: Possess comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology.
Demonstrate understanding of organizational principles, planning, records management, and general administration practices.
Exhibit attributes of dependability, adaptability, and confidentiality.
Successfully pass all items on Rancho's Medical Assistant checklist.
Successfully complete Rancho's administered Vaccine quiz.
Familiarity with proper procedures for disposing of used supplies.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients and staff members in person, via email, and over the phone.
Display tact, initiative, and good judgment when interacting with patients and staff members.
Capable of observing the general physical condition of patients to identify signs of abnormalities.
Proficient in recording observations and notes in a complete, accurate, literate, and concise manner.
Possess computer skills necessary to navigate the company's electronic medical records (EMR) system.
Ability to accept supervision and feedback.
Highly organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Exhibit excellent teamwork skills.
Effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
Flexible to work at different locations as required.
Travel required: 10% in the surrounding Temecula, CA area from Hemet, CA to Fallbrook, CA.
Training will take place over a 2 week span with travel required to multiple office sites within the surrounding Temecula, CA area from Hemet, CA to Fallbrook, CA.
Salary range: $17.
