*Title: *Accounting Associate
*Department:* Accounting
*Hours:* 40 hours per week (flexible to meet program and client needs)
*Job Summary:* The Accounting Associate reports directly to the V.
P.
of Finance and is responsible for Accounts Payable entry, statement reconciliations and providing accurate copies for grant processing.
This would additionally include working with the Senior Staff Accountant on a variety of monthly accounting functions that are needed for preparing grants, keeping filing current and preparing monthly required reports.
*Essential Functions: * · Responsible for accounts payable including input, processing weekly payable with proper documentation, and scanning backup into QuickBooks.
· Keep all vendor statements current & responsible for follow up if invoice not paid.
· Making sure all expenses are put to correct classification and grants for monthly billings while also scanning and making copies that are needed for monthly grant expenses.
· Keep all filing and backup current.
· Responsible for clear documentation on all adjustments or disputes made including proper backup and signatures if needed.
· Received daily mail from front desk and prepare daily check receipts.
· Assist with data entry of various payment into QuickBooks.
· Scan all checks along with any backup and email cash report to specific staff and board members for tracking.

*Minimum Education and Experience:* BA in Accounting or two years’ relevant experience.

In addition, have previous payroll experience.
*Other: * * Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with QuickBooks accounting systems.
* Must have experience in excel and word.
*Skills*: · Ability to work effectively with volunteers, coworkers and outside contacts.
· Thorough understanding of the organization’s Vision, Mission and CREED.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area and volume.
*Reasoning Ability*: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
