Job Overview: We are a small family-owned and operated business looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our team.
We have one storefront and are in the process of building an online web store.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a busy environment with lots of distraction and is a self-starter to complete tasks.
A background check is required before starting with our company.
As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing our company's financial records, being in contact with clients and vendors, updating QuickBooks every day and filing sales tax returns quarterly.
You will be expected to help answer phone calls and to provide information about our company to clients.
Part of our bookkeeping process also includes some inventory management.
You will be expected to learn our proprietary inventory system and how to remove and add items to our system.
Responsibilities: * Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable * Record all financial transactions accurately and timely * Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements * Manage and reconcile petty cash transactions * Prepare and file sales tax returns quarterly * Prepare monthly financial reports * Assist with the preparation of annual tax returns * Answer office phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate person * Learn and use our proprietary inventory software Requirements: * At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience * Proficient in QuickBooks * Strong attention to detail * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work in a busy environment that is sometimes loud and/or cluttered.
Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * Experience with inventory management software * Experience working in a retail or e-commerce environment This is a part-time position with a starting salary of $23 per hour.
The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week from Monday through Friday, 10AM - 4PM.
