Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver Job description As an NEMT Driver at Desert Elite Transportation, you will play a vital role in assisting our clients by providing transportation services in a safe, professional, and compassionate manner.
Your primary responsibility will be to transport individuals with medical conditions or disabilities to and from their medical appointments, ensuring their comfort, safety, and on-time arrival.
Responsibilities: Safely operate a company-provided vehicle to transport individuals with medical conditions or disabilities.
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating the vehicle.
Assist passengers with boarding, securing, and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
Provide friendly and professional customer service to passengers, maintaining a courteous and empathetic attitude at all times.
Follow the assigned schedule and route efficiently, considering traffic conditions and potential delays, to ensure timely arrival and departure for appointments.
Maintain accurate records of trips, including passenger information, pick-up and drop-off times, mileage, and any special instructions.
Keep the vehicle clean, both internally and externally, and perform routine inspections and maintenance checks to ensure its proper functioning.
Communicate quickly and effectively with the dispatch team to report any issues, delays, or changes in the schedule promptly.
Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding towards passengers' medical conditions and special needs, offering assistance as required.
Maintain confidentiality of all passenger information and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Requirements: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Proof of valid and active CPR certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in transportation or a customer service-related role is preferred.
Familiarity with the local area, including major medical facilities and clinics, is a plus.
Ability to operate a variety of vehicles safely and confidently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members.
Strong time management skills and the ability to follow a designated schedule.
Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals with medical conditions or disabilities.
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
Ability to lift and assist passengers with mobility devices (e.

Walkers, Wheelchairs, or Stretchers) or other necessary accommodations.
