*Title:* Thrift Store Truck Driver
*Hours: *Full-time (40 hours per week, flexible to meet programs need, including evenings, weekends and holidays)
*Job Summary*:
The thrift store truck driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of donated items, merchandise, and inventory to and from the thrift store and MVK locations.
They ensure timely pickups and deliveries while providing excellent customer service to thrift store staff, donor, and customers.
The role requires adherence to safety regulations, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage inventory and paperwork accurately.
*Essential Functions:* *Delivery and pickup duties:* · Safely and efficiently operate a truck to transport donated items, merchandise, and inventory to and from the thrift store.
· Load and unload items onto the truck using appropriate equipment and techniques.
· Ensure all items are securely packed and properly arranged for transportation.
· Follow established routes and schedules for pickups and delivers.
· Verify the accuracy of delivery/pickup paperwork and obtain necessary signatures.
Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections: · Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition.
· Report any mechanical issues or damage to the truck promptly.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck’s cargo area.
· Adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws while driving.
*Customer Service and Communications*: · Interact with thrift store staff, donors, and customers in professional and friendly manner.
· Provide excellent customer service by assisting with loading/unloading of items and answer inquiries.
· Provide friendly and professional customer service to thrift store staff, donors and customers.
· Communicate effectively with thrift store management, staff regarding pickup and delivery schedules.
· Ensure accurate documentation of donated items and maintain inventory records · Report any issues or concerns related to donation or pickups to the appropriate thrift store personnel.
· May be required to assist Thrift store with cashier and preparing cash for the register.
Complete and ensure that all sales are performed at register.
· Perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
*Safety and Compliance:* · Adhere to all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
· Use proper lifting techniques and equipment to prevent injuries when handling heavy or bulky items.
Ask for staff for to assist.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the truck and at the thrift store.
· Follow proper disposal procedures for items that are not suitable for sale or donation.
· Follow established routes and scheduled for pickups and deliveries.
· Adhere to safety regulations and traffic laws while driving.
· Assist other task as assigned, such as store setup p or special events.
*Qualifications:* · High school diploma or equivalent*.
* · Valid driver license and a clean driving record.
· Experience in truck driving and delivery operation preferred.
· Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
· Ability to operate a truck and handle various types of donated items.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Attention to detail and ability to accurately document and track inventory.
· Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy or bulky items.
· Basic computes skis for inventory management and communication.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays if required.
*Minimum Education and Experience:* High school diploma or equivalent and two years’ experience in a position that closely aligns with the duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description.
