The controller is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate association financial records.
Also responsible for preparing the financial reports by reviewing and analyzing the financial data.
Assist management with interpretation of financial data and explanation of financial records.
In addition to preparing reports and maintaining records, they are in charge of maintaining the general ledger and all applicable support schedules.
This position is trusted with the association financial data and will be required to examine the data to make sure that all financial records are accurate and presented in a timely manner with established deadlines.
Requirements: Duties include but are not limited to: Maintain multiple association financial records with multiple operating entities.
Preparing the financial reports by reviewing and analyzing the financial data received from the company.
Management will also require the accountant to generate and interpret financial records.
Work closely with clients, vendors, manager, accounting team members, finance committee and board members.
Provide technical and financial reporting guidance and knowledge to others including department managers and board members as needed.
Develop accounting policies, procedures, and compliance for approval by General Manager and Board of Directors.
Once approved, responsible for implementation and compliance.
Identify, research, resolve and communicate accounting, auditing, and operational issues.
In charge of maintaining the general ledger.
The controller will be trusted with the financial data of the company and will be required to examine the data to make sure that all financial records are accurate.
Analyze GL accounts, budget variances, and projection variances, request adjustments.
Prepare journal entries for reclasses and other miscellaneous items.
Work with various personnel in all departments on issue resolution.
Collect and provide information for audit inquiries and give assistance to auditors.
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and accounting.
Oversee the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, payroll transactions, accrued payables, and general ledger adjustments.
Provide financial analysis statements including monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flows statements, and actual to budget and last year variance analysis.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Must have knowledge and proficiency of Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, and Cost Control Principles including accounting principles, practices, and procedures (US GAAP).
Knowledge of an Accounting Shared Services Center environment.
Evaluate, analyze, and prioritize data in various forms and formats.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
) at a proficient level.
Proficient level knowledge in use of Excel workbooks, including but not limited to formulas, links, and tables.
Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques at a proficient level.
Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
Time management and time critical prioritization skills Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Minimum 5 years Full Cycle Accounting experience, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting required.

Wage Range: $80K - $90k depending on experience.
